So what's all the fuss about?
Hey, it's a party! Or should we say parties!?
It's Molson Indy week in Toronto and we are rocking. Bar
events, Team Red A block party. What an event!
Canadian drivers Paul Tracy, Alex Tagliani and Patrick
Carpentier roaring through the city streets of these lively cities as
part of the Champ Car Series. The "home" fans cheering loudly,
but that's just part of the show. This is not just a race, it's a happening.
These is no one-day bashes. Instead, they last five days
as Indy Week kicks off on Tuesdays with a series of promotional blowout
bashes that rotate to different bars around town. The events feature
live music, a chance to win tickets, street parties and super socializing
with bar patrons, race fans and the Indy girls, a group of beautiful
women who patrol the parties with the precision that Tracy patrols the
race track.
The best of these parties, the Thursday night street party
in Toronto, has been replaced in 2004 by a blow-out bash at Montana's
(we're sure John Street will still be lively). There's also a lame-sounding
driver meet & autograph event on the race site at Motorfest. The
driver VIP parties on Friday is still THE place to be for all Molson
Indy races.
For Vancouver, the highlight is the Miss Indy pageant
in the Flag of Nations after Champ Car qualifying. Get there early to
ensure a good viewing spot. There's also talk of a street party on Saturday.
The Vancouver VIP driver's party is Friday night at the Commodore. The
real bonus here is a Miss Indy "private" preview show.
